Tour Limitations Bottle Village, as the name implies, is composed of glass bottles. Over the years and as a result of the extensive 1994 Northridge earthquake, bottles shattered throughout the site. As a consequence, glass shards remain in every nook and cranny. Additionally, the remaining structures have sustained structural damage and cannot be entered under any circumstance. Portions of the site are not accessible to the general public.
The fragile mosaic walkways necessitate that visitors wear soft-soled shoes and no pointed or hard heels. No open toed shoes, sandals or flip-flops. The site is not equipped for strollers and is not ADA accessible. Please be advised that no water or restroom facilities are available.
The Preserve Bottle Village Committee is diligently pursuing restoration efforts to improve the visitor experience and your patience is appreciated. |
